1. What should be the mission of a human being in life?
Ans. The service of fellow men should be the mission of a human being in life. Prayer gives us the necessary discipline required to do this job.
2. Why should prayer be the essence of human life in Gandhiji’s opinion?
Ans. Gandhiji believes that prayer is the very soul and essence of religion. As no man live without religion, prayer becomes the essence of human life.
3.How should we begin our day according to Gandhiji? Why?
Ans. According to Gandhiji we should begin our day with prayer. It is because prayer provides us peace and knowledge which help us in handling our day’s work and dealing with an companion.
4. What does Gandhiji say about the universe in his ‘Discourse of Prayer’?
Ans. In his ‘Discourse of Prayer’, Gandhiji says that all things of the universe, including the Sun, the Moon, the stars, and planets obey certain cosmic laws. Without these laws, the universe cannot go on.
5. How does purify our/one’s soul?
Ans. Prayer purifies one’s soul in a systematic way. According to the Gandhiji, prayer is a mean of purification and cleansing. It frees our soul from the layers of inorgance. It ends darkness and grants divine light. Therefore he, who wants divine awakening, must fall back on prayer. Prayer purifies those who wish to know the light of truth and God.

Ans. Gandhi has a core view regarding the importance of prayer for a man. He says that no man can live without religion and prayer. Prayer is the essence of religion. Hence prayer is the very core of human life.
7. ‘NO man can live without religion.’ Explain this statement according to Gandhiji?
Ans. Gandhiji says that this world runs under the control of some laws. All things in the universe including the Sun, the Moon, the stars, and planets obey cosmic laws. Without these laws, it cannot go on for a single moment. Likewise, our life and society too obey certain laws. Which we call religion. Those who destroy these rules, get destroyed. Hence no man can live without religion.
