Basics Of Future Tense
(1) Future Simple or Indefinite Tense:-
Helping Verb:- Will/shall
*Helping verb shall is used with ” I and we ” and will is used with other subjects.
Main Verb:- 1st form of the verb
Formulae:-
Affirmative = Subject+will/shall+1st form of verb+object+others.
Negative = Subject+will/shall+not+1st form of verb+object+others.
Interrogative = Wh word+will/shall+subject+1st form of the verb+object+others?
Interrogative Negative = Wh word+will/shall+subject+not+1st form of the verb+object+others?
Examples:-
- I shall write a letter.
- We shall go to school tomorrow.
- I shall not go to Malakhera tomorrow.
- The boys will not sleep in the day.
- Will he give you some pens?
- How many books will he buy?
- Where shall we not go tomorrow?
- Why will your brother not come tomorrow?
(2) Future Continuous Tense
Helping Verb:- Will be/shall be
*Will be/shall be is used like will/shall.
Main Verb:- 1st form of the verb+ing
Formulae:-
Affirmative = Subject+will/shall+be+V1+ing+object+others
Negative = Subject+will/shall+not+be+V1+ing+object+others
Interrogative = Wh word+will/shall+subject+be+V1+ing+object+others?
Interrogative Negative = Wh word+will/shall+subject+not+be+V1+ing+object+others?
Examples:-
- I shall be learning my lesson.
- She will be writing a letter.
- They will not be teaching the boys.
- You will not be bringing a cup of tea.
- Will he be learning his lesson?
- How many boys will be sleeping in the room?
- Who will not be coming to school?
- Who will not be playing in the field?
(3) Future Perfect Tense
Helping Verb:- Will have/shall have
*Helping verb will have/shall have is used like will/shall.
Main Verb:- 3rd form of the verb
Formulae:-
Affirmative = Subject+will/shall+have+V3+object+others
Negative = Subject+will/shall+not+have+V3+object+others
Interrogative = Wh word+will/shall+subject+have+V3+object+others?
Interrogative Negative = Wh word+will/shall+subject+not+have+V3+object+others?
Examples:-
- They will have played the match.
- I shall have read my book.
- She will not have written the letter.
- The child will not have drunk the milk.
- Will the boys have played the match?
- Why shall we have punished your son?
- Shall we not have taken the tickets?
- Why shall he not have done his work?
(4) Future Perfect Continuous Tense
* Time is given in future perfect tense.
Helping Verb:- Will have been/shall have been
* Helping verb will “have been/shall have been” is used like “will/shall”.
*Since is used before the point of time and for is used before the period of time.
Main Verb:-V1+ing
Formulae:-
Affirmative = Subject+will/shall+have been+V1+ing+object+others+since/for+time.
Negative = Subject+will/shall+not+have been+V1+ing+object+others+since/for+time.
Interrogative = Wh word+will/shall+subject+have been+V1+ing+object+others+since/for+time?
Interrogative Negative = Wh word+will/shall+subject+not+have been+V1+ing+object+others+since/for+time?
Examples:-
- They will have been playing for two hours.
- The boys will have been swimming in the tank since 4 O’clock.
- She will not have been working hard for two days.
- You will not have been suffering from fever for two days.
- Shall we have been waiting for him since morning?
- How many boys will have been playing since noon?
- Why will you not have been reading for two weeks?
- When will you not have been working in a company for two weeks?
